I created this turquoise butterfly at my torch, using soft glass and applying silver leaf to the surface and burning it in. This creates the patina. I then twisted 16 gauge copper wire, and, Voila! a shawl pin.

The butterfly is 7/8" tall at the body, and the wings measure 1 1/2" wide across. The overall length of the pin is 6 3/4". The copper Pin Holder is about 2 3/4" in diameter.

As with all my beads, this one has been kiln annealed for strength and durability, but remember that it IS glass, and treat it with care.

The perfect accessory for your shawl, scarf, or sweater, but it is not suitable for tightly woven fabrics.
